Two Men Face Charges Regarding Heathrow Alleged Pepper Spray Incident
Two men have been charged related to a luggage theft where a substance thought to be pepper spray caused injuries at the UK's busiest airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two robbery charges and two counts of administering a noxious substance, authorities have stated.
The charges follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the assault occurred, two female travelers had their suitcases taken after exiting a parking garage elevator, police said.
A toddler was caught up in the incident during the incident. Several persons required hospital care and were eventually allowed to go home.
The incident – described by police as was not part of a series and not considered a terror-related act – resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area for a brief period.
