The Streaming Giant Casts Spot-On Star for Bentham in the Hit Series Third Season
Baroque Works is set to play a huge role in Netflix’s upcoming season of One Piece, although the true confrontation won’t unfold until the third season, and a beloved, audience-beloved member has now been chosen.
The streaming service revealed Tuesday that the skilled actor has joined the One Piece cast for the third season and will play Bentham. This character has the ability to morph into an perfect replica of any person they’ve made contact with with their right hand. The actor, who is identifies as non-binary and goes by they/them, will portray a rendition of that figure reimagined as non-binary identifying, instead of as a drag performer, in the live-action show, as in the source material and cartoon version.
Escola joins several other recently announced actors tasked with bringing Baroque Works to reality, including head the main antagonist, portrayed by the seasoned performer, an emerging star as a key member, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who also joins the lineup as the ruler of the fictional land.
Though this character is a important part of the group, the character won’t make their debut One Piece the upcoming installment. With the next season set to cover the Little Garden storyline, this marks a major departure in the timing of their first appearance, one that could signal additional alterations to the plot development.
