More than 36,000 people have evacuated from Sudan's Kordofan region eastern sector of Darfur beginning Saturday, as stated by the UN's migration organization.

The key central region connecting the country's Darfur areas and the Khartoum-Riverine region has in recent weeks become the recent fighting area in the two-year civil war between the Sudanese army and the paramilitary group.

Substantial Evacuation Statistics

An estimated 36,825 people escaped five areas in North Kordofan region between 26 October and 31 October, as reported by the International Organization for Migration.

The people, most on foot, traveled to Tawila, a town to the west of El Fasher that is currently accommodating in excess of 652,000 displaced people.

Increased Forces Deployment

Residents of North Kordofan on Monday reported a substantial rise in both RSF and army deployment across urban and rural areas throughout the state.

Both military groups are vying for control of El Obeid, the North Kordofan provincial capital and a key logistics and command base that links Darfur to Khartoum.

"Today, all our forces have assembled at the Bara front here," commented an RSF member in a recently shared video message.

Area Inhabitants Report Safety Fears

A resident of Um Smeima, located west of El Obeid, reported that the amount of RSF vehicles had increased considerably since the group's seizure of El Fasher.

"We ceased visiting our farms, afraid of clashes," the resident stated.

Another inhabitant, who requested anonymity for safety concerns, also indicated that "there has been a substantial growth in army vehicles and weapons west and south of El Obeid" over the past two weeks.

World Concerns and Requests

A senior UN official raised the alarm last week about "extensive crimes" and "ethnically motivated reprisals" by RSF in Bara.

The representative alerted to patterns echoing those in Darfur, where RSF combatants have been alleged to commit mass killings, sexual violence and abductions against non-Arab ethnic groups.

The church leader on Sunday appealed for an quick cessation of hostilities and the establishment of relief routes in Sudan, stating that attacks on civilians and impediments to humanitarian aid "are producing unacceptable suffering."

Sudan's official envoy to Egypt on Sunday accused RSF of carrying out war crimes in El Fasher and announced that the Sudanese government would not discuss with the militia organization.

The diplomat further called on the international community to designate the group as a terrorist entity.
