Jet Carrying Pete Hegseth Forced to Land in UK Because of Fracture in Windshield
An aircraft carrying Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was compelled to make an unscheduled landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday following a fracture was found in the jet's front window, according to an official announcement which confirmed that Hegseth was safe.
"The plane touched down in accordance with standard procedures and all passengers, among them Pete Hegseth, is unharmed," a spokesperson stated in a public statement.
The secretary was coming back from a brief trip to the city of Brussels during the flight.
This incident does not mark the first occasion that a US military aircraft carrying a high-ranking official has experienced technical problems.
Months ago, a United States Air Force aircraft transporting Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the German city of Munich was forced to turn back to Washington DC after experiencing a technical issue.
